What we repair

At Colour Wizard we carry out SMART (Small to Medium Auto Repair Techniques) repairs to any make or colour of vehicle: bumpers, alloy wheels, scratches, trim, external mouldings, cigarette burns, plastic panels and dashboards, and leather seats.

  • Bumper repairs

Usually about an hour and a half

Bumper scuffs, scratches, cracks and dents repaired at a time and place to suit you.

Damaged bumpers are not only unsightly, they can seriously affect the value of your vehicle when you wish to sell or part-exchange.

As the longest established S.M.A.R.T. repairer in the North Lancashire and South Cumbria area, we have years of experience in repairing scuffed, scratched, cracked, dented and generally untidy looking bumpers. We repair painted or textured plastic bumpers, achieving a high quality durable repair that matches the original finish. All of our paints are mixed onsite from your vehicle paint code so we can guarantee a perfect match every time.

We repair only the affected area, not the whole bumper, at a fraction of the cost charged by a bodyshop.

  • Alloy wheel repairs

    About an hour per wheel

Alloy wheel scuffs, scratches and kerb damage repaired at a time and place to suit you.

We can repair scuffed, kerbed or corroded alloy wheels. We take the wheel off the car, clean up and remove any brake dust that can often be difficult to shift, repair any damaged areas and then re-spray the whole face of the wheel. Finally the wheel goes back on the car, ready to drive straight away.

We always match the existing colour of your alloy wheel, so you won't have to have all 4 wheels re-sprayed to match if only one is damaged.

  • Scratches and paint repairs

    Usually under 2 hours

Panel scuffs, scratches, paint imperfections and minor dents repaired at a time and place to suit you.

Scratches, chips, scuffs and small dents are an unfortunate hazard of everyday driving. Damage caused by supermarket trolleys, stone chips and even vandalism can let down the whole appearance of your car. Left unrepaired, it can lead to long-term problems with rust or bubbling to the paintwork and lacquer.

We can quote for one small chip repair or several areas of damage. We mix your paint on site to the manufacturer's original paint specification and only repair the affected area, a big saving compared with a traditional bodyshop that would usually spray the whole panel.

  • Trim, seat and moulding repairs

Often in less than one hour

Internal and external trims repaired at a time and place to suit you.

We repair scuffs, scratches and damage caused by sharp objects or by drilling when mobile phones or sat navs were fitted to hard plastic surfaces. Holes left by phone holders can be filled to a near invisible finish. We restore and re-texture both internal and external plastic trim to match the surrounding area.

Minor damage and small tears to fabric, leather, carpets and other interior materials can be repaired, along with cigarette burns, using a blend of fibres to match the existing fabric. We also repair wheel arch mouldings, bumper inserts and wing mirrors.

What's more, all of our work is fully guaranteed and of the highest quality. Don't just take our word for it, see what our customers say about us below.

Alloy wheel repair

Range Rover Sport, minor kerb damage

Just under an hour, £85 + VAT

Our customer had caught one of the alloy wheels on his Range Rover Sport on a kerbstone, causing about a 1 inch gouge to the rim of the wheel. A fairly simple repair, as in our opinion the damage was very minor, but in our customer's eyes the damage spoilt the look of his pride and joy.

  1. Before

Approximately a 1 inch gouge to the rim of the wheel.

  2. Step 1

The car is jacked up and the wheel taken off ready for repairing.

  3. Step 2

The damaged area is sanded to a smooth finish and filled if necessary.

  4. Step 3

The tyre is then masked up and primer sprayed onto the damaged area.

  5. Step 4

Once the primer is dry we spray 2 coats of silver to match the original colour of the wheel.

  6. Step 5

Finally we spray 2 coats of clear lacquer to the whole wheel and bake off under infrared lamps.

  7. After

After just under an hour the wheel is as good as new and put back on the car.

  8. Picked up a kerb yourself? Send us a photo.

Bumper repair

Toyota Auris

Various chips and scratches to the rear bumper

Most of the scuffs were fairly minor, but they covered more or less the whole bumper, so it needed a full bumper respray. Once the colour code was taken from the car, the paint was mixed on site and sprayed over the primed areas, then finished with 2 coats of clear lacquer for a mirror shine and baked off under infrared lamps.
